From the Principal's Desk

Dear Students,
I extend my greetings and warm welcome to all on behalf of DBS (PG) College, Dehradun an institution that completed its 62 year of establishment in 2023. This grand old temple of learning is spread across 14 Departments with UG, PG courses, and facilities for doctoral research and post-doctoral fellowships in some Departments. The College is Uttarakhand State Government Aided Post Graduate College and is affiliated to HNB Garhwal (Central) University, Srinagar, Uttarakhand.

The College has adopted the NEP[National Education Policy] 2020 at UG level w.e.f. 2022-23 as per the Directives of the Affiliating University. We are entering the third academic session of NEP this year. Besides 3 years UG courses, Honours Courses [4 years] in various subjects are being offered in our college as per the guidelines of the University. For UG Courses the Candidate needs to apply to our college with a CUET examination score and for PG courses the candidate has to sit in the HNB Garhwal University Entrance Examination for PG.

This premier college with highly qualified academicians, imparting education in different branches of Science and Arts at both the UG & PG levels, is reputed for its continuous, outstanding performance in academics, testified by the student's results in the examinations conducted by the affiliating university.

In this academic session, we are collaborating with various Universities and institutions and have signed MoUs for partnership in academics with other Universities like Uttarakhand Open University,Haldwani and National Institutes like National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology, Haridwar. The College is continuously striving for excellence by organizing workshops, seminars, career counselling sessions, awareness programs, Youth Camps etc . The NSS, NCC, Rovers and Rangers wings, Cultural Team, and Sports Team work hard round the year and bring laurels for the College.

We are focussing on the skill enhancement of students by not only offering Skill Enhancement courses but also focusing on skill enhancement by linking students with various institutions. Our glorious Alumni list reflects the credibility of our pass-out students.

The sight of bright, young students performing remarkably in academics and co-curricular activities elicits in me a sense of immense pleasure. That joy multiplies manifold when this institute enables students from socioeconomically weaker backgrounds, and backward regions to excel, steadily overcoming their difficulties. Our college believes in inclusion in all forms and this is portrayed through our policies, and activities throughout the year.

I thank all the teaching and non-teaching staff members for their contribution in the last academic session and seek their enthusiastic cooperation in this new academic session.
