Welcome to Department of Mathematics DBS (PG) College Dehradun (Affiliated to Hemwati
Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal Central University Srinagar Garhwal). The Department of Mathematics was established
in 1961 as envisioned by Dr Mata Baksh Srivastava, the founder Principal of DBS
(PG) College. Since its inception, this department has been actively
engaged in teaching and research in various disciplines of Mathematical
Sciences and growing steadily. The Department has a strong
and dedicated team of faculty members- Dr Jai Pal Singh (Professor & Head),
Dr R. K. Pandey (Professor), Dr. Amit Chauhan (Assistant Professor), Dr. B. S.
Rawat (Associate Professor), Dr. Dileep Sharma (Associate Professor), Dr
Devdatta (Assistant Professor) and Dr Ajay Kumar Gairola (Assistant Professor) with
expertise in various areas of Pure and Applied mathematics, Fluid Dynamics, Bio-mathematics,
Operations Research and Statistics. More than 25 Books and 100 research papers
have been published from the department in reputed national and international publications/journals
and ten students have been awarded D.Phil./Ph.D. degree. The department has a
rich history of students who secured first position in MSc Mathematics and received
Gold Medals from HNB Garhwal Central University and many students passed
CSIR/UGC NET (JRF).
