Library Reading Room
Library and Reading Room facilities are open only to students
and staff of the college. The College Library possesses an excellent collection
of books. Journals/ periodicals.. The Library is open from 10 a.m.
To 5 p.m. from Monday to Saturday. For lending purpose the books are
categorized into three sections: General Section, Reserved
Section and Reference Section.
Computer Laboratory
Well Equipped
Computer Laboratory with internet facility is available in the college for the
students. Students can visit and avail the facility as per their convenience
and specified timing of the laboratory.However it is mandatory to follow the
rules set by the college for using the facility.
Bank
A full fledged
branch, known as DBS College Branch of Central Bank of India is working in the
college premises. The students can open their account with Zero Balance.
Seminar Room
The Seminar Room of the
College is the place for multifarious activities throughout the year. The activities in the seminar room range
from curricular and co-curricular seminars, lectures, debates, discussions and literary society
activities.
Golden Jubilee Auditorium
Large scale events
are held in the college auditorium - Swarn Jayarnti Sabhagar which has a large
stage and a seating capacity of about 200. Its stage is ideally suited for
theatre activities,other group performances and also for national &
international level seminars.
Canteen
Canteen facility for students is available in the college
near parking area.
Gymnasium
A full fledged
gymnasium is available with modern equipments.
Study Centre
The college
has a study centre with latest edition of books, journals and magazines for
preparation of all competitive examination, computers with internet
connectivity, photocopier, LCD projector, PAS etc.
Equal Opportunity Centre
EOC is
committed to provide assistance to differently abled students and staff members
to enable them in participate fully in the academic, intellectual, social and
cultural life of the College, and beyond by organizaing workshops, talks,
training programmes, cultural activities and competitions providing assistive
devices like ABRAR to visually challenged students and writers during
examination time
College Magazine
Vigyanda
College publishes a magazine named "Vigyanda", with original
contributions from bonafide students, teaching and non teaching staff, along
with progress reports of the departments and extra curricular activities of the
college
Health Services
A doctor
serves the college for two days in a week and in case of emergency one can
visit his clinic. However dressing material, glucose and essential medicine are
kept in Emergency kits.
Railway Concession
Subject to
general directions issued from time to time by the Railway Authorities,students
of the College will be issued Railway concession under the following provisions
onlya) From their College to an Examination centre allotted by H.N.B. Garhwal
University or vice versa. b) for going to their hometown (as mentioned in
application form for admission) during long vacations approved by the railway
authorities. Note: the concession is not intended to apply to students
attending an Examination or interview for the purpose of obtaining employment
or seeking admission elsewhere e.g. P.M.T, Engineering Entrance etc.
Parking
Students can
park their vehicles in the place marked for the purpose. However , they have to
pay some modest amount to the attendant for the safety of their vehicle.
Parking vehicle other than the reserved area is strictly prohibited and will be
an offense. A financial Penalty may be levied on the person concerned.
Student Union
Every student
is a member of the college Students Union. Participation in students union
activities is an opportunity for training in organisational skills and
democratic leadership. As per H.N.B Garhwal University, Registrars Letter No.
Ku. Karaya/2007/319 dt. 19.05.07 in compliance with Lyngdoh Committee
recommendations no. 6.2.2.A, following will be the structure of Students Union
in affiliated colleges.
All these
elections will be held by direct voting using secret ballot. Any bonafide
student interested in contesting the student union election may contact the
Election Officer of the College.
Women Grievance Redressal Cell
The Women's
cell of the college is established in accordance with the directives of
Honourable Supreme Court of India to ensure safety, security and dignity of
women at workplace to create a congenial working environment which is free of
sexual harassment or gender based discrimination for all women employees and
students and to enhance awareness and sensitivity to this important issue
amongst all concerned.
Parents Teacher Association
Keeping in
view the importance of healthy interactions and establishing linkages and
families of our students Parents Teacher association is working. Parents and
teacher together work for the progress of the student and the institution.
